The New LG Rollable OLED Screen
After years of development, LG's rollable OLED screen is on display. This paper thin, rollable material can be poked and moved without disrupting the image.
This screen is made of plastic that is able to capture the organic light it emits through diodes.
This technology can soon be used in many practical ways. Imagine being able to have a TV screen in your school binder, backpack or pocket!
LG has already experimented with this technology in some of their phones (like the LG Flex 2) but so far these screens have had to be protected with glass.
Lately LG has been in the news a lot for their innovation - such as their new LG 360 VR.
What do you think? Would you buy an LG rollable screen? Comment in the comment section below!

94Fifty: The Smart Basketball
Lots of modern sports players enjoy statistics to improve their game. But for basketball, there wasn't a FitBit for statistics. So 94Fifty created a smart basketball and a smart net to track misses and makes from different areas.
It also tracks shot backspin, shot release speed, dribble intensity and dribble intensity.
The 94Fifty Basketball costs $199.95, so it's targeted towards players with money and wants to improve.
What do you think? Would you buy a 94Fifty basketball that costs around 4 times more than a regular one? Comment in the comment section below.

How To Stop The World's Next Epidemic
Remember, about a year ago everyone was worried about Ebola destroying humanity? Scientists already made the vaccine.
It took only 10 months.
Scientists used new techniques to swap proteins from Ebola and other viruses, which allows people to become automatically immune.
Health workers in Guinea gave 4,000 adults the vaccine who had been in contact with people with Ebola. All of them survived.
That technique will be later used to develop new emergency vaccines in the future.
What do you think? Do you think this technique will work on other diseases in the future? Comment in the comment section below!
The Selfie Drone That Never Was
That's why the Torquing Group designed the Zano - a drone that tracks you doing random things.
Zano films you by following your smartphone. So it has a second purpose - if you lose your phone outside the house, just look up at the sky and look where the drone is hovering.
When you do activities outside like biking, rock-climbing or just chilling at the beach, the drone will use its GPS and pressure sensor to navigate its way to you and snap a pic or two.
Everyone loved it. Kickstarter ate it up and Zano got 2.3 million euros for it. And then issues started to appear.
They couldn't meet their stretch goals. The factory in China creating the parts was late. The drones that did ship crashed into walls or took awful photos. Then they disappeared and filed for bankrupcy. Forever.
Zano was gone.
Kickstarter is a really good idea. Many people love to fund projects, and much of the time the backers get their product.
Once I funded a Kickstarter project too. I shelled out around $25 for the project and guess what? It never came.
Kickstarter needs to force their projects to be more accountable. Many backers of the Zano never got their refund.
What do you think? Would you fund a Kickstarter project after hearing about this? What do you think about the Zano?

The Fitbit Of Jumpropes: The Tangram Smart Rope
The Tangram Jumprope: The Fitbit of smartwatches.
It comes in this nice case:
It's designed especially to be comfortable, using 45 degree angles. The handles are designed so they don't get in the way and they are easy to hold.
The smart rope also connects to Smart Gym - where you can track stats on your jumprope workout like rope count, interval training and awards. SmartGym is kind of like a Fitbit app.
The app is really nicely designed. They have daily competitions with your friends, awards (ex. Bronze - 10000 jumps) and awesome interval training.
It costs around the same amount as a Fitbit - $80-90.
It's a pretty sweet jumprope. But when are you going to use a jumprope? Like seriously, when will you use it? Maybe a couple times in the morning, but you won't use it all day?
Overall, I think the Smartrope is a great concept, has amazing design but how much demand will there be for a smart rope? How many professional jump ropers do you know? Only 9 people reviewed it but they seemed to like it.
Would you buy a Smartrope if it was a little cheaper or would you buy it at this price? Comment in the comment section below!

The Raspberry Pi Zero: A $5 Computer
Raspberry Pi Zero - the $5 computer.
It sold out on its first weekend available and everybody seemed to want one. I mean, who wouldn't? It's a $5 computer!
It comes with a Micro SD slot, a mini HDMI socket, a 1GHz ARM11 core and micro-USB slots. It runs Raspbian and can run games for Linux like CSGO, TF2 and Rust.
MagPi was giving away free ones when you bought their magazine but that stopped.
Unfortunately, you have to buy a Raspberry Pi Zero from a Raspberry Pi distributor instead of online.
If they were more easily accessible, would you buy one? Comment in the comment section below!

The Click'N'Pizza: The Paragon of Human Kind
The Click'N'Pizza.
Invented by La Comanda, this company has strived and put in long hours so you can order a pizza with this thing. Seriously. You can set it with your favorite pizza and press the button and BOOM! Pizza ordered and pizza delivered. You can also select different toppings by turning the Click'N'Pizza. Promo'N'Click helps you order from different promotions (such as the Pizza Hut Big Dinner Box).
Amazing. Click'N'Pizza can also stick on your fridge, so whenever you want to impulse buy, just do it and think about the check later.
Here's some concept images of the Click'N'Pizza.

4 Features The New Galaxy S7 Has That The iPhone 6 Doesn't
The Samsung Galaxy S7 vs the iPhone 6. Not much of a competition yet, as the S7 outpaces the iPhone 6 by far. But special features? Here's 7 things the Galaxy S7 has that the iPhone 6 doesn't.
1. The S7 is waterproof.
When you drop your phone in water, it survives. This one probably isn't a surprise as you've probably already seen Samsung's water commercials. But still - it's nice. Once, I left my phone (a Samsung S6) out when it rained on accident and it survived. (It also covered my friend's iPhone 5c, which saved it too). Anyways, having a waterproof phone is more helpful than you'd think.
2. The S7 charges wirelessly.
The S7 can charge without "plugging in". You can just set your phone down on a wireless charging dock and it will charge.
3. The S7 has removable storage.
Regret picking the 16GB model? You can buy removable storage for your S7. Pretty neat.
4. Dual-Pixel Camera Technology
It makes your phone's camera faster and better in low-light environments.

Scientists Just Invented Ice Cream That Melts Super-Slowly
Picture yourself eating a cone of soft-serve at the beach when suddenly it starts melting all over your hands. You're forced to eat it fast and that makes you not enjoy it as much. What a drip, right?
Science in the UK have discovered a protein called BsIA that makes the ice cream smoother and more resistant to melting.
The scientists are now trying to find new ways to use the protein as well but they are also pursuing making their slow-melting ice cream a commercial venture as well.
What do you think? Would you buy the slow-melting ice cream at grocery stores? Comment in the comment section below!

How To Run Windows Apps On A Mac!
How To Run Windows Apps On A Mac
There's a couple of different ways to run a Windows application on your Mac. One of the main techniques used is WINE. But Wine is more difficult to use, so someone created WineBottler, which makes WINE more simple to use.
Here are the steps you can use to run Windows on Mac.
1. Download WineBottler.
Download WineBottler from the site. It will go to a spam site, so if you get a suspicious link DO NOT CLICK ON IT. Click (SKIP AD) when it shows up and then exit one of the windows saying "Download this". Go to the WineBottler site and click "Download" if it doesn't work in 5 seconds. Download the app and open it when it is finished
2. Drag it to your Applications folder.
Drag WineBottler and Wine.
3. Try opening your .exe Windows file now. Click on it.
It should work and you should be able to run your apps on it!

Nike Just Invented Self-Tying Shoes
Nike just invented a shoe for the lazy athlete. This shoe not only ties its own shoelaces but it also looks sleek, modern and has a blue backlight on the side of the shoe.
The shoes are meant to "reduce a typical athlete concern, distraction". When stepping in the shoe, you activate a sensor that automatically self-tightens the shoe. There are also two buttons that you can use to tighten and loosen the shoelaces.
The shoelaces also don't flop around and allow for you to trip.
Want a pair? The Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 is only available to Nike+ members (which means just sign-up on the website).

Indian Smartphone Sells For $4 (Scam Revisited)
See the previous article here: A $4 Indian Smartphone Just Dropped...
Techies and people hoping to buy the Freedom 251 around the world are confused. At the opening event for Freedom 251, Ringing Bells paraded around their phone, which was part of the Made In India campaign.
Then, a few days later people started noticing that the logo on the top was whited out on every picture. People noticed that a lot of the time, the pictures on the official website appeared to have the iPod touch iOS UI photoshopped in.
After some people scratched off the whiteout on their phone, they found a logo that didn't look like Ringing Bells' - Adcom.
Adcom is a Chinese phone maker. They build cheap phones including the Ikon 4 ($50). Their phone has many of the same specs as the Freedom and has the same chassis as the Freedom 251.
Here, take a look for yourself:
When contacted, Adcom denied that they built the phone for Ringing Bells and that they had nothing to do with them.
Ringing Bells abruptly stopped selling their product recently, citing their high demand. High demand's normally great for a business! Why stop?
An Indian government official has called this "A Ponzi Scam". A Ponzi Scam is when a fake company is set up to draw investment to pay old investors that they ripped off.
The Indian government is investigating the case of the $4 Smartphone right now. Many people have filed fraud against Ringing Bells and will see court soon.
I'm kind of disappointed. At first, I was kind of suspicious (especially after seeing the whiteout covering the logo on many of the pictures) and of the dirt-cheap price, but hopeful that this would bring down the price of tech and make it more accessible to people.
What do you think? Do you think a $4 Smartphone will ever be possible to make and when? Comment in the comment section below!

Mini Lumio - A Notebook That Lights Up And Charges Your iPhone
The Mini Lumio was a design project invented by Max Gunawan. The notebook lights up in the dark, allowing you to write in it without turning on the lights. On the go, you can also use the notebook to charge your phone as well through the USB port on the side.
It won two design awards in 2014 and four design awards in 2015. It was also shouted out by Mark Cuban, who said "It's the coolest light I have ever seen".
The notebook looks beautiful, and doubles as a lantern that you could take with you anywhere.
Want to get one? You might want to look at the price tag first. The Mini Lumio costs $125 and is available for purchase at (http://www.hellolumio.com/products/mini-lumio-2).

Is The New 2016 Macbook Worth It?
Apple's motto about their new computer is "Light. Years Ahead." But is it really?
Looking at its processing power, the base model has only 1.1GHz and by paying $300 more, you can get 1.2GHz. For $1,299.99/$1,599.99, this really isn't impressive. GHz is how fast your computer runs, and these stats aren't too impressive.
To give you some perspective - A Google Chromebook Pixel going for $400 has 1.8 GHz and the 2015 Macbook Pro going for $1,299.99 has 2.7GHz. Not very impressive.
Apple also brought in a new keyboard. I tested out both of the keyboards, and for the people who are used to the old Apple keyboards, the new ones are hard to type on. They don't really give you the sensation of "typing". I don't know if that makes sense, but I prefer the old keyboard.
Apple also highlights their new Force Touch mechanism. You can now use different functions with one click (renaming files, previewing suspicious links, previewing upcoming calendar events, checking definitions, etc.). Not life-changing but definitely a nice touch. (See what I did there?)
The Macbook also comes with features like a Retina screen and can connect to your Apple phone's personal hotspot as well (which also comes with the 2015 model, though).
Remember the recent Apple controversy about removing the headphone jack from the iPhone 7? Well, there's another controversy about Apple removing ports.

A Book That Creates Safe, Drinkable Water
A Book That Creates Safe, Drinkable Water
Researchers at Carnegie Mellon have developed a book that in each of its pages, contain two filters. Each are able to clean 26 gallons of water. The Drinkable Book was created to provide people with reading material while also providing them with a cheap way to filter their water as well.
The way someone uses this book to filter water is simple - you rip out one of the pages, put it over a wooden box and pour the water.
In field tests done by the inventor in South Africa, Ghana, Haiti and Kenya, the paper filtered 99.9% of the filthy water.
Here's a video on the Drinkable Book:

A Candle That (Almost) Lasts Forever
This candle, invented by the British designer Benjamin Shine lasts almost forever. When used, the wax that melted seeps back into the container below and dries into a new candle. However, you can't reuse the wick, so you'll have to buy some, which costs around $6 for 100.
After breaking open the mold - ta-da! Another candle! The candle that comes out of the candle looks exactly like the one you burnt down.

7 iPhone 7 Leaked Images
1. TechRadar's iPhone Leaked Image
This concept is light, has a HDR camera and has the headphone jack removed. Rumor has it that Apple wants to remove the headphone jack so the phone can be thinner.
2-5. iPhone Concept from CICCARESE
The phone is slightly thicker, has a headphone jack and is slightly curved.
6. iPhone with WatchOS
This phone has a WatchOS interface and a massive date on the front of the phone. It's an interesting concept but I doubt most phone users would switch to WatchOS.
7. iPhone 7 with iOS 9 functions
This iPhone doesn't really show the phone that much, but it does show new OS functions.

Plastic That Can Heal Itself
Chemical engineers from the University of Michigan have created a plastic that can heal itself. When shot by a bullet, a liquid flows out of the open hole and automatically plugs up the hole.
In the real world, NASA is trying to make space suits that repair itself. In space, like the book "The Martian", when a space suit is punctured, the scenario is normally not good.
But with a self-healing material, the suit can heal itself and the astronaut won't be in a terrible scenario.
Here's a video of the spacesuit in action:

Fitbit Blaze: Effective or Not?
Many people have been buying Fitbits to make them healthy. While it can help you get up and move, helping you get healthy, just walking 10,000 steps a day won't make you an Ironman athlete. So would buying a $200 smartwatch be worth it?
Relative to other smartwatches like the Apple Sport Watch (starting from $300-$350), the Pebble Time Steel ($250) or the Samsung Gear S2 ($300), the Fitbit Blaze is cheaper than many other popular smartwatches. But does it have enough features to stand up to the Apple Watch and does it actually help you get fit?
On its website, Fitbit brags about its "BREAKTHROUGH FEATURES": PurePulse(TM) Heart Rate, Connected GPS, On-Screen Workouts and its Color Touchscreen. Its "ESSENTIAL" functions are "Multi-Sport", All-Day Activity and Sleep, Music Control, Call, Text and Calendar alerts and accessories. Let's explore the features in more depth now.
BREAKTHROUGH FEATURES
PurePulse HeartRate
PurePulse HeartRate allows you to see your heart-rate and what exercise zones you were in the duration of your workout. It also shows you how many calories you burned. Using your heart rate zones, you can then optimize your workouts, increasing training efficiency. It also helps you make sure if you're keeping your workouts intense and effective. You can also see at what times of the day you were most active.

A Milk Carton That Changes Color When Expiring
Designer Ko Yang created a milk carton that changes color when expiring. The concept was that when milk rots, it turns to cheese. So when it gets closer to the expiration date, the carton turns from a white color to a cheesy design.
It's a neat design, because it provides a colorful way to remind you to drink the milk before it's too late.
You might be wondering now, where could I get these? This was created only as a design project and unfortunately won't be seeing store shelves anytime soon.
This is not the first time Ko Yang has created something unusual, because he also made this: (bit.ly/1XRldJ8).

This University Has A Hurricane Simulator
Photography from the University of Miami
The University of Miami has a hurricane simulator. Costing around $45 million to create, the simulator holds 30,000 gallons of water, can create winds up to 200 miles per hour and has a length of 75 feet and a height of 6.5.
Why build such an expensive simulator? The University of Miami wants to use the data to build more flood-resistant infrastructure. They will be testing the simulator on different structures and bridge designs to see what they can improve.
They are also researching how the hurricane will affect marine life and aquatic organisms.

Don't Put This Date In Your iPhone
A glitch in the Apple OS causes iPhones all around the world to crash whenever you enter the date January 1, 1970. And unlike most crashes, this causes your new $659 phone to turn into a useless, but nice to look at slab of metal.
CNN offers a theory on why the glitch happens. Apple iPhones run on Unix time, and Unix time started on January 1, 1970. Trying to go before that may cause a glitch that causes the entire OS to crash.
Apple hasn't fixed the glitch or responded when asked for comment.
What do you think about the iPhone crashes? Respond in the comments!
